Come Run with Me
Signing up for a new race always brings me a jolt of excitement. Every race is a chance for a new experience, new goals, new travels, new friends, new lessons learned and new victories. It doesn’t matter what happened during our last race or the one before that. Every race is a fresh chance to chase a new goal, to grow as a runner and to embark on a meaningful journey.
I’m excited to share that I just signed up for a new race!
The ZOOMA Women’s Race Series has invited me to run their half marathon in Amelia Island, Florida, on January 18, 2013, as one of their Florida ambassadors.
Not only am I excited to run a flat winter race in the state where I grew up, but I’m especially excited to run in Amelia Island. This laid-back beach town holds a special place in my heart. It’s where Mr. rUnladylike and I went on our first vacation when we started dating in 2005. It’s a place that fills me with happiness … and hopefully it will also fill me with speedy legs, unstoppable lungs and a shiny new PR.
If you’re a woman looking to run a spring half marathon, I’d love for you to join me on January 18, along with these incredible ladies. The average temperatures in Amelia Island on race day are a high of 63 degrees Farenheit and a low of 44. Flat, cool, beach, wine, yoga, music, Ritz-Carlton, massages? Um … yes, please!

I hope to see you in 127 days at ZOOMA Florida! After my Beach2Battleship Half Ironman in October, I’ll post more about my training plan for race day.
As an ambassador for ZOOMA Florida, I received free race registration for the half marathon. As always, anything I write about the race and my experience leading up to it will be a reflection of my completely uncensored and honest thoughts and opinions.
If you’ve ever run a ZOOMA race, what did you think? Who wants to join me?
Have you run in a city that means a lot to you? Did that experience help you run stronger?
