32 Things for 32 Years & A Gift for You
Today, I celebrate 32 years on this Earth. I’m not sure how that much time has passed so quickly. Despite the 10 grey hairs that have decided to become permanent fixtures on my head, I can honestly say that I am happier and more fulfilled today than I have ever been.
I was recently inspired by this post from Happy Fit Mama who created a bucket list for her 36th birthday. It got me thinking about things I really want to do. Not just short-term goals, but big, fun bucket list activities. Some of these things could be done in one year, while others may take the rest of a lifetime. So, in honor of my 32 years, here are 32 items on my bucket list.
- Run a marathon in Europe (Paris or Rome).
- Do 3 unassisted pull-ups.
- Vacation in Tahiti/Bora Bora.
- Write an article that’s published in Runner’s World.
- Run a race in Napa Valley.
- Run a marathon (or do a long-distance triathlon) with Mr. rUnladylike.
- Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
- Become a better skier (master the black slopes).
- Live closer to my family.
- Help one of the athletes I coach achieve a big PR.
- Finish an IRONMAN.
- Learn to sew. I got a sewing machine about 10 years ago that I’ve never used.
- Work for Brooks Running.
- Go to the Olympics in a cool destination. (I did attend the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.)
- Travel across the United States for 3 months.
- Spend the day with Kara Goucher.
- Own my own pimped out tri bike and race wheels.
- Start a family.
- Swim with manatees.
- Do 50 push-ups in a row on my toes without stopping/resting.
- Own my own business (that can actually pay the bills).
- Live on the west coast.
- Go on a mission trip to help others.
- Have a second home somewhere awesome.
- Make and sell my own running shirts. (I’m taking suggestions.)
- Become proficient in Spanish. Again. (I used to be conversational and nearly fluent.)
- Go to Corsica, France with my family (that is where my mom’s family is from).
- Go to Italy with my in-laws (that is where Mr. rUnladylike’s family is from).
- See my best friends who live in other places more often (at least 4 times a year).
- Go to Australia.
- Learn to be a better swimmer.
- Have Matt Fitzgerald be my personal coach. If you don’t know who he is, google him. He has written many of my favorite books and plans on running, racing weight and triathlon.
No birthday would be complete without gifts, right? In honor of my birthday, I’m giving away a present to YOU to say thank you for how awesome, inspiring and encouraging you are all year-round. From leaving comments on posts here on runladylike.com and chatting with me about running and triathlon on Twitter and Facebook to emailing me about your experiences and with your questions, YOU make me so happy and fulfilled.
To say thanks, I’m giving one lucky reader the chance to win a Meow running belt from Ultimate Direction.
As an ambassador for the ZOOMA Women’s Running Series this year, the Ultimate Direction team sent me a few items from their Jenny Collection, which is a line of products designed specifically for female athletes lead by runner and designer Jenny Jurek (wife of ultra-runner Scott Jurek).
The Meow waist pack was designed to carry items with you while you’re running or out being active around town, such as your phone, keys, cards, or fuel. Ultimate Direction describes the waist pack as having wicking mesh with a comfortable women’s specific fit, a low-profile streamlined design, reflectivity and a long easy-access pocket with an internal divider. It weighs 2 ounces and the pocket is 32 inches long. You can check out a video of Jenny talking about the Meow and other products in the line here.

I want to run a full marathon!
On my bucket list is to run a marathon in a really cool place with my little sister! For example….. on the Great Wall of China

Thanks Lacy! I have been to Italy before. Mr. rUnladylike and I were fortunate to go for 15 days back in 2010. We loved it! I would just like to go with his entire family, some of whom have not yet been. xoxo

Happy birthday! Thank you for the giveaway! Two things that I’ve always wanted to do is run a marathon and travel to Hawaii. I’ll be running my marathon on 5/25 and I can’t wait!
Good luck with your training Crystal!!! I hope you’ll keep me posted on how your first marathon experience goes. Yay!
Happy Birthday to you! I love Dream Lists, my husband and I still have our original lists made almost 17years ago. We add to it and cross off the list, it’s been fun. On my dream list, would love to do an ultra run and learn to swim better so I can participate in a triathlon/ ironman. I have a fear of swimming under water. I panic very easily. I wish the best for you and blessings to you and making those dreams BIG,as they can be a reality. 🙂
I love that you and your husband do that Maria! Great new things on your list!
Run a marathon in Santiago, Chile.
To get my motorcycle license

Happy (belated) birthday, Jesica!
on my bucket list: being able to run for my entire life, run a marathon in America, walking across the alps to Venice!
Great, great goals!!! Let me know when you come run a marathon here so we can all join you 🙂 And I LOVE Venice! One of my favorite places!
Happy Birthday again Jesica. You have an incredibly list there! I love so many of them, but after our discussion at ZOOMA I’m glad to see the IRONMAN cracked the list. I love my tri bike, and I can tell a difference, but that’s coming from an aluminum road bike.
And for all of your travel and other aspirations, they’re fantastic. Going to Bora Bora is somewhere Tim and I would really like to go. We kept looking half kiddingly for our honeymoon. It’s such a quaint and beautiful area.
Thank you so much, Meghan! I can’t wait to cheer you on at your first IRONMAN this year! I’ll wait to see how it goes for you before I sign up. LOL! xoxo
Any my bucket list would include running a half marathon with Tim, starting a family, and finishing an Ironman. I’d have to think about the rest. Maybe I’ll do a 30 before 30 thing.
Happy Birthday! One thing on my bucket list is to become a ‘marathon maniac’ which I hope to accomplish for my 40th birthday this year!
I want to run a marathon.
Happy birthday! I love the idea of creating a bucket list with an item for each year. Next year, when you make a 33 item list, it will be interesting to see how many things you can cross off from this list!

Happy Birthday!!!

Top of my list is to graduate nursing school and pass boards, which hopefully will get crossed off this summer. I would also love to be brave enough to run another full marathon. Hope you had a great birthday!
Happy birthday! I celebrated my 30 on Monday, so I’ve had similar thoughts on my mind. A bucket list item for me is to send 5.12 sport routes rock climbing.
Happy belated birthday! Congrats on turning the big 3-0! I hope it was a great day.
Happy Happy Birthday!!
