Baby rUnladylike’s Room Reveal
Please pardon this interruption of your regularly scheduled running and fitness content as I pause to bring you … drum roll please … Baby rUnladylike’s room reveal. With my most important starting line just around the corner, I’m glad we reached the finish line of completing her nursery before her big debut. Since I typically subject you to training recaps, race reports, my unladylike adventures and details about running gear, I’m giving you a break today to take you on a quick tour of my new favorite room in our house.

When I started designing our baby girl’s room, I was attracted to a soft color palette that included blush pink, light grey and white with gold accents. I wanted it to be a pink and grey baby room that mixed girly accents with both modern and vintage elements.
This room designed by Monika Hibbs was the inspiration for my baby’s room. I loved it immediately. I could not get over the beautiful wallpaper, so I decided to use it as the centerpiece for Baby rUnladylike’s nursery.
I created an accent wall using Monika Hibbs’ Jolie Wallpaper from anewall, choosing the vinyl adhesive. It arrived in six panels that my brother-in-law and I installed. It was an extremely detail-oriented and tedious process with no room for error. Despite the fact that the instructions say you can peel the wallpaper off and re-stick it if you make an error, you cannot. Trying to pull the vinyl off would take the paint with it and would likely ruin this beautiful (and very expensive) wallpaper. It took us about 3 hours to install on our nine-foot walls, carefully making sure each panel matched up with the design of the next panel. I absolutely love it. The remaining walls are Sherwin-Williams Reflection, which is the primary color throughout many rooms in our house.
All the wood furniture in the room is white to give it a clean and streamlined look. Gold accents include the curtain rod, wall frames and knobs I installed on all the drawers for a subtle shine and texture. Mixing the clean lines of the glider and modern dresser and crib with a baroque-style mirror and vintage fan and bookshelf give the room personality and depth.
Accessories such as the XO wall art and follow your heart pillow create a sense of inspiration, strength and love for anyone who enters.
An antique white fan to complement the baroque mirror and lacy bed skirt finished the look.
We can’t wait to meet our sweet baby, and I’m looking forward to becoming her #MotherRunner.

Looks beautiful! I love the wall paper. The whole room feels warm and inviting.
Very well done with one suggestion. Something in that room needs a Brooks logo on it.
LOL!!!! Some of my friends gave her a miniature pair of Sauconys since Brooks doesn’t make toddler stuff, so I definitely agree. xoxo

Will you show another video a year or two from now with the added bins and baskets of toys, books, dress ups and diapers??
LOL! All her books are on the bookshelf and all the diapers are in the top dresser drawers and in the basket on top. Bins and toys are in the closet. I’ve left space in the corner for another toy basket, her swing, etc.
